HR Business Partner (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner (HRBP) to lead the end-to-end HR function for a new factory set-up. This role will be instrumental in laying the HR foundation, implementing systems and processes, and driving people strategies aligned with business objectives

Your Responsibilities

Pre-Commissioning Phase

  • Partner with leadership and project teams to define workforce planning for the new plant
  • Drive end-to-end recruitment for factory roles across functions (production, quality, maintenance, etc.)
  • Facilitate compliance and statutory registrations related to labour laws for factory operations
  • Set up HR systems, SOPs, and policies tailored to a manufacturing setup
  • Lead onboarding, induction, and engagement plans for early hires

Post-Commissioning Phase

  • Act as the key HR point of contact for factory employees and plant leadership
  • Drive talent management, performance appraisal, and succession planning initiatives
  • Manage employee relations, grievance redressal, and disciplinary procedures in line with labor laws
  • Lead training & development efforts focused on shopfloor capability building
  • Monitor time, attendance, and leave systems integrated with payroll
  • Coordinate with external agencies for contract labour management (if applicable)

Essential Skills

  • 8 to 12 years of HR experience, with at least 3+ years in a plant/factory HRBP role
  • Proven track record in greenfield factory set-up or plant HR operations
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, statutory compliance, and IR (Industrial Relations)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Hands-on experience in HR operations, systems, and digital tools
  • MBA/MSW in HR or equivalent from a reputed institution
  • Proficieny in English and Tamil languages
