Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Mission

At RobCo GmbH, we are redefining what’s possible in industrial automation. Our modular, high-performance industrial robotics solutions are transforming how manufacturers of all sizes deploy, scale, and adapt automation. This is not just engineering - it’s shaping the next generation of robotics technology. We have raised more than $50 million from some of the world’s top venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed, as well as from the founders of UiPath, Helsing, Pitch, and other companies to pursue our mission.
We are seeking a highly skilled (Senior) Electronics Engineer who can drive design and testing projects. In this role, you will take full ownership of electrical developments for our modular industrial robots - from concept design through to validation - ensuring every product meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You’ll be at the forefront of developing robotics solutions that set new benchmarks for flexibility and scalability in automation.
Key Responsibilities:

  • PCB Design & Development - Own the full PCB design process using Altium Designer, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Prototype Bring-Up & Testing - Plan and execute functional and performance testing of new boards, troubleshoot hardware issues, and work with suppliers to resolve manufacturing problems.
  • System Integration - Ensure electronics integrate seamlessly into the overall robotic system, including EMC/EMI considerations, thermal management, and mechanical fit.
  • Continuous Improvement - Lead testing and robustness investigations on existing systems to drive performance enhancements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with production, mechanical, firmware, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in electronics design, preferably in robotics, automation, or similar complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proven experience with Electronics Design Software (Altium Designer preferred; Eagle, KiCad, …)
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics (DC/DC converters, motor drivers, protection circuits) and BLDC motor control principles.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics testing, measurement tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Solid understanding of EMC/EMI design principles and compliance requirements.
  • Fluent English; German proficiency is a plus.

Plus Points:

  • Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
  • Familiarity with EtherCAT, Ethernet, or other industrial communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of thermal design and mechanical integration for electronics.
  • Experience designing for harsh environments or high reliability.

Why us?

  • Work with us at the forefront of software-defined modular robotics.
  • Diverse, responsible, and autonomous work in a dynamic startup.
  • Flat hierarchies with an open and direct feedback culture, including a 360° development feedback aiming for holistic professional development.
  • Train in over 7,200 partner studios for only €30 per month with your subsidized Wellpass membership.
  • Flexible working hours, modern office, and the option for home office.
  • Regular team events (game nights, ski trips, and much more) - Teamwork makes the dream work!

Do you share our passion for our disruptive robot technology and want to be a part of our dynamic growth journey? You will get to own projects, implement innovative solutions, and be recognized for your successes!
