AME Engineer- Execution (m/w/d)
As part of the EU & Africa JIT and Structures AME team, the Intralogistics Automation Engineer is tasked with supporting the execution of projects to defined standards in accordance with Lear’s AME Intralogistics Automation (ILA) roadmap. The projects will be grouped to allow continuity in the project delivery. Reporting to the AME Manager, the role will play a key role within AME team tasked with overseeing the implementation, requirements installation and start-up of projects in the EU&AF plants. Additional tasks performed by the Intralogistics Automation Engineer include ensuring project implementation is conducted to Lear standards, technically interfacing with suppliers, creating work instructions and specifications to be utilized within the plants as well as and identifying training needs within the facility. Working as part of the Intralogistics team, this includes supporting the Intralogistics team in executing successful project implementations.
Your tasks:
- Work closely with Central ILA CoE, Plant Operations, EHS, Purchasing, IT, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of automation projects.
- Collaborate with plant teams to identify clear business cases and operational needs for each Intralogistics automation project.
- Lead and support the commissioning of approved intralogistics automation solutions (e.g., AGV/AMR, ASRS, E-Kanban, RTLS, etc.).
- Coach plant teams by sharing lessons learned and best practices from project execution.
- Report regularly to ILA, Project, and Plant Management using defined iDEA project management standards.
Your profile
- A technical degree and experience in automation; knowledge of IT systems (e.g. ERP, MES, WMS, WCS, WES etc.) is a plus.
- 3-5 years work experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role, Continuous Improvement role or a Project Management role.
- Strong analytical skills / problem solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Degree in Technical Field as Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or comparable discipline.
- Experience in Industry 4.0 projects (especially Intralogistics) in manufacturing company would be a huge advantage.
- Fluency in English and willingness to travel within the role (up to 50%) across EMEA.
