To pursue this ambitious goal outside of our daily operations, we are launching an independent startup focused exclusively on developing the next generation of our software. As a leader for this venture, we are seeking an experienced Startup Operations Manager (m/f/d) with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a focus on building a nearshore development team.
Your tasks
- Responsibility during the startup phase You assume overall responsibility for the new venture, including strategic, operational and organizational tasks. You ensure that all processes are geared towards a successful start and rapid team development.
- Choosing a country You identify potential nearshore locations and, together with SEMCO's management, select the most suitable country.
- Building a team in the nearshore location You assemble a high-performing team of developers, and establish the organizational and technical structures needed for smooth and effective collaboration.
- Product development Having successfully set up the team and structures, you oversee product development through to market readiness. In collaboration with the technical lead, you ensure that objectives, schedules and framework conditions are clearly defined and you create the structure needed for the development team to get off to an efficient start.
- Budget control and resource planning You monitor financial planning and make sure that agreed budgets are adhered to. You are responsible for transparent data, realistic resource planning and a coherent project presentation.
- Close collaboration with stakeholders You work closely with your key contacts at the parent company SEMCO, particularly in the areas of consulting, sales and management. Together with the technical lead, you manage and shape the setup and further development of the venture. Your aim is to understand the customers' requirements and processes and to incorporate them systematically into product development and corporate strategy.
Your profile
- You have experience in setting up startup companies.
- You are very familiar with the selected country and, ideally, bring an established network of local contacts.
- You have a solid understanding of web technologies and a strong interest in software development and technical scalability.
- You are a confident leader with excellent team-building skills. You know how to inspire people and get them on-board with you.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset: highly adaptable to changes in the market, a focus on achieving results, and a high level of personal responsibility.
- You are experienced in budget and resource planning as well as in controlling relevant KPIs, and you have strong communication skills.
- You are prepared and able to travel frequently, especially for regular meetings with SEMCO contacts in Germany.
- You are fluent in English with strong negotiation skills. German language skills are of advantage.
