About the Job
We’re looking for a motivated Production & Deployment Engineer -Robotics (m/f/d) to join one of our clients and support its Engineering strategies. In your day to day work, you’ll focus on configuring, assembling, testing, and preparing robotic systems-including radios, controllers, and embedded platforms-ensuring these systems are fully functional for both internal testing and customer-facing demonstrations. Our client is a German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation across defence and commercial applications, offering a shaping role in an emerging, innovative, and international team with ample opportunities for professional growth.
In this role, you’ll:
- Configure and prepare robotic platforms for production and deployment, including radios, control units, and communication networks.
- Flash firmware, set up system configurations, and validate the operation of embedded controllers and sensors.
- Participate in the calibration process for sensors and actuators.
- Set up and maintain radio communication stacks to ensure reliable wireless performance.
- Assemble and test robots for demos, pilots, and production shipments.
- Provide hands-on technical support during field deployments and live demonstrations.
- Collaborate with engineers to diagnose hardware/software integration issues and assist in debugging during final system validation.
- Maintain documentation on setup procedures, configuration parameters, and system health checks to help standardize production workflows.
Your Profile
- Practical hands-on experience configuring and assembling robotic or embedded systems in production or field environments.
- A good understanding of wireless communications (e.g., radios, mesh networks) and protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and serial.
- Comfortable with firmware flashing, Linux-based system configuration, and basic scripting in languages like Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with tools and processes to validate overall system functionality such as connectivity, motor control, and sensor feedback.
- Strong troubleshooting skills at the intersection of hardware and software, along with a methodical approach in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience supporting technical demos or field deployments is a strong plus along with knowledge of ROS2 and embedded Linux.
- Excellent communication skills in English is a must; German is a plus.
Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
