As an alternative to complete new implementations, which are often costly and risky, Avision modernizes companies’ legacy software in an efficient way. Your tasks

• Continuous optimization, design, and implementation of database applications based on Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
• Responsibility for the development, creation, and integration of new database packages
• Development and enhancement of interfaces and database applications
• Operation, maintenance, and optimization of complex database systems
• Execution of Oracle/PostgreSQL updates and patches
• Analysis of business requirements as well as familiarization with complex business processes and their technical implementation
• Independent understanding and further development of existing applications and database structures
• Taking on diverse and exciting tasks in projects for our client - one of Europe’s largest logistics service providers - including direct customer communication

Your profile

• Successfully completed degree in (business) computer science, mathematics, business administration, or vocational training as an IT specialist for application development (m/f/d)
• Several years of experience in the database environment
• Practical experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
• Good knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms
• Knowledge of Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration and/or Linux operating systems is an advantage
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
• Enthusiasm for diving into complex applications and business processes and understanding them holistically
• Interest in not only developing code but also analyzing and actively shaping the underlying business processes
