The CE for the Prototype Design is responsible and accountable for the following:
- Airframe & Systems Modifications allow representative testing within the assigned test scope of the flight test vehicle
- Prototyping Methods are defined and strictly followed
- Configuration Management and Control for each Flight Test Vehicle to ensure the aircraft configuration is fully traceable and understood.
- Ensures jointly with the CE team and the head of the prototype shop the timely availability and quality of the prototype parts released under the authority of the DO, following the prototyping processes
- The prototype design development follows the development process as described in the DOH and the procedures of the Prototype Shop
- Plans and coordinates the execution of all required testing prior to the handover of the aircraft to the flight test organization jointly with the head of the prototype shop in alignment with the CE team.

- Requirements Management in line with the assigned test scope for each TAC Validation of Aircraft Level Requirements for each prototype within the assigned test scope
- Execution and Management of Engineering tasks Provide the Aircraft Level CE with the development plan for the prototype development, aligned with the overall Aircraft Level Development Logic
- Establish the Engineering Work Package substructure required for the build of multiple prototypes
- Definition of SOW’s and SLA’s for each Sub-WBS element jointly with the internal or external suppliers, leveraging the knowledge of the functional organisation
- Provide inputs and outputs for each SOW element
- Agree with the line organization and the CE team on resource requirements
- Supervise and drive the execution of the SOW’s and SLA’s according to plan
- Regular updates of the prototype descriptions as required by the evolution of the design activities
Das bringen Sie mit
- Educated Engineering degree (BA Eng/Sc, MA Eng/Sc) in aeronautics / aviation or mechanical
- 15+ years of experience in aircraft development programs on the aircraft level
- New product development experience of at least one new aircraft program
- Experience with design & build of fixed wing prototype aircraft
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage and execute multiple simultaneous tasks
- Assertive, pro-active, innovative and creative
